Shreddin' the Gnar. Double cork. Triple. Backcountry. Big air. All-mountain. Boned out. Blunt side. Eggflip. For snowboarders, it’s about more than just winning — it’s about showing what you’ve got. Snowboarding is a sport that involves descending a slope that is covered with snow while standing on a board attached to a rider’s feet— using a special boot set onto a mounted binding. Inspired by skateboarding, sledding, surfing, and skiing, surfboarding was developed in the United States in the 60s to 70s and eventually became a Winter Olympic Sport in 90s.
While the big air sport is associated with male stars, some of the most accomplished snowboarders in history have been women. Female professional snowboarders continue to break the glass ceiling of progression — as more and more girls are signing up to carve the slopes. Cementing their reputation as incredible all-around riders, GFG snowboarders are among the most elite athletes — and we’re here to marvel at their talent. Get out on the slopes! Happiness is the first tracks on first snow.
