The first step is always the hardest.. Don’t even think of giving up.. You’ll never regret it. The harder you work for something, the greater you will feel when you achieve it, believe in yourself and you will be unstoppable..
Aloha my name is Shalea Tiana-Raposas Peeren and I’m 39 years old. I live on the island of Kaua’i and reside in Kahili Mountain Park with my Husband and my beautiful five children. I started riding trails as a hobby during the weekends with family and friends and my Dad and older brother knew that I would be a fierce competitor on the track. They ended up convincing me to check out our local track here. I later was introduced to a lady and we spoke about racing and she convinced me more to sign up, which I did.
In 2008 at the age of 26, I started competing here at our local track which was called Kauai Motocross Race Association on a KX 100 and couple years later was one of the top Wahine riders on Kauai racing a 2008 YZ 250F. For the last 6 years I’ve been racing a 2013 KX 250F. When the local women here stopped competing in races, I had to push the boundaries and started to compete with the Men/Boys in 250 Amateur Class, Open Big Bikes Class and later on raced in the Vets Class and now again Wahines Class with along side my twin sister Sasha, banging bars with me. I have placed in the top 3 in many of our local races amongst the Men and Women Classes.
I am driven, passionate and dedicated to the sport of motocross. As the years pass by I grow fonder and fonder of the sport and will continue to race, learn and improve my skills and try to inspire other girls and women to motivate them to participate in motocross which I am most passionate about. I’d like to thank my biggest support team which is my husband Landon, my children Samaria, Shania, Elisha, Laeshia and Lyric who are a part of my little family pit crew. I appreciate the hard work, love and support through out these years. Also my Dad and Mom for attending the nerve wrecking races you’ve watched in the past years. Much mahalo to Club Moto Kauai for continuing your support, hard work and dedication for our community here on Kauai to have a local motocross track to enjoy. When I’m not riding I also enjoy surfing, hunting, fishing, hiking, lifting and martial arts..
Thank you Go Fast Girls for welcoming me and giving me the opportunity to be a part of your family as a ambassador of the company.
