Get To Know Me
Hey! My name is Adison from Boyden, Iowa and I'm currently 22 years old. I am married to Austin, and a dog mom to Damon. I work full-time, and spend my free time in the shop or at the track, hanging out with family and friends, and I'm also apart of my local fire department.
Growing up, I was around dirtbikes, four-wheelers, go-karts, big cars, anything that had a motor and I could get my hands on. Unfortunately back then wasn't my time to get behind the wheel yet but I have been in the racing community and have spent countless weekends at the track throughout my childhood. At only 2 weeks old was my first race track debut, growing up my family raced go-karts until about 2011. My family had gotten out of karting and a few decided to get into big cars and/or pursue other endeavors.
Around 2018 I started racing figure 8's locally and did that for a few years until meeting my now husband, Austin. The last few years Austin and I have traveled around the Midwest and I have supported him in his career racing his USRA/IMCA stock car. Getting in a few "Women-on-Wheels" races or a cruise around the block was enough to hold me over until my time came to get behind the wheel myself.
This year, 2023 will be my first year racing go-karts piloting my 99' Legend SS Flat Kart. I've been dreaming of this since I can remember and I'm so excited to see what this season will bring! Saying the racing industry is hard is an understatement. So much blood, sweat, tears, and sacrifice has been given towards this sport but none of us would have it any other way. ;)
I'm hoping I can race karts for a few years and eventually move up to a big car. We're going to take this season day by day and take nothing for granted for we are so blessed to able to live this lifestyle!
My best advice for any women or younger girls is: Wear that love, grit, determination, and bravery on your sleeve. Be proud of your passions and strive to be the best version of yourself. Work hard, put in those late nights, and keep your head high. Celebrate the wins no matter how big or small, and learn from your mistakes. Never lose sight of the love for the sport and in the end make sure you're having fun.
